With its majestic Himalayan Mountains and fascinating local culture, Nepal is a favorite destination for adventurous travelers. Each year thousands embark upon the experience of a lifetime to spend days or weeks in the breathtakingly beautiful country of Nepal.I became entranced by the remarkable sweetness and cheerfulness of the Nepali people. In spite of their poverty and hard lives, none of the Nepalis I had met showed bitter, hostile, or even resigned faces to the world. I wanted to learn more about them - and I wanted to learn what they could teach me. I eventually did both.You can also travel from Kolkata to Raxaul in train (15 hours). You can also travel from Patna to Raxaul (7 hours) in bus. Then take a bus from Birgunj, the Nepali border town next to Raxaul, to Kathmandu (10 hours), Pokhara (9 hours). You can travel from Darjeeling to Kathmandu via Kakarbhitta, the border town in Nepal. You need to travel from Darjeeling to Siliguri, then from Siliguri to Panitanki (1 hour). Then cross the border to Kakarbhitta and then travel to Kathmandu in a bus (14 hours).

When you get into overseas adventure travel you are going to have to bring your own supplies, at least some of them. For example your hiking boots are a must, as well as special jackets and such. These can literally save your life when you are out there in the wilderness so don't forget them when you are packing for your overseas adventure travel.The Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square represent the arts and architecture of the the Kathmandu valley during the reign of the Malla kings. They were the capitals of the fragmented Kathmandu valley at that time.Not unlike the thousands of others that now come to Nepal to experience trekking in the Himalayas, I too ventured out to do the same. Granted, the area I was traveling through, the Annapurna Conservation Area, was the most developed trekking route in Nepal, but I was slightly put off by what I saw.

Then there's Lakeside Pokhara. Get there by public bus for around 300NPR, tourist bus for 550NPR or plane for 98USD, but get there. This delightfully relaxed town is nestled along the stunning Fewa Lake, bordered my rolling green hills and back dropped by the breathtaking Annapurna mountain range, sharing space with the majestic Maccharepuchhre or Fish Tail, getting its name from the shape the mountain takes from a certain angle, that of a fishes tail.If you are on a budget, go local, look out for busy locally ran places. The busier the place the better the food is likely to be. Also go to the local markets, eat fruit, you will be surprised how cheap and good fruit is in Asia. Its clean, it's good for you and it's easy to obtain. Peel able fruit is a good option, if you are susceptible to upset tummies or the water is not too good in that particular country, as an added safety precaution don't forget to rinse with bottled or purified water.
